Keeping the Blues Alive: Your Support Powers Local Music and Education

At the High Plains Blues Society (HPBS), your memberships and donations are the backbone of everything we do. Thanks to your continued support, we’ve been able to present a variety of blues events, provide paid opportunities for local musicians, and bring powerful music education programs to public school students.

Over the past year, HPBS sponsored multiple shows, employing 12 different local acts and more than 40 musicians. We also successfully launched our Blues in the Schools (BITS) program, introducing 100 students from Poudre School District to the rich history and cultural impact of the blues.

Our mission extends beyond the stage. We proudly partner with local charities throughout the year, including our annual Holiday Show at Avogadro's Number in Fort Collins—an event that brings together music, community, and goodwill.

Looking Ahead: Growing Our Impact.

We’re excited to expand both our live programming and educational outreach. Our goal is to increase our Blues in the Schools program by 400%. To support this, we funded a BITS workshop led by blues educator and performer Dan Treanor, aimed at training more presenters to carry this important work into even more classrooms.
